Yutong YEA Hits Jeddah, Driving Saudi Arabia’s Green Vision 2030
Recently, Yutong unveiled its YEA technology in the Middle East for the first time during a brand event in Saudi Arabia. This event also showcased a new energy vehicle specifically designed to withstand the challenging road conditions and climate typical of the region.
As Saudi Arabia gears up for its Vision 2030, which is all about sustainable development and slashing carbon emissions, Yutong’s products is a timely one. The path to net-zero emissions is paved with challenges in Saudi Arabia. From blistering temperatures to blinding sandstorms and the need for reliable long-haul transport, the conditions are tough. Keeping vehicles up and running in this environment is more than just a test—it’s a necessity for achieving Vision 2030.
Yutong brings with its two stellar battery electric buses to the Saudi Arabian market: E11PRO and D8E. E11PRO, Yutong’s first electric bus to hit the roads in Jeddah, has excellent performance in the extreme high temperature test in Saudi Arabia and serves as Yutong’s primary model to complete the “Extremely Hot Challenge” in Jeddah. E11PRO boasts impressive driving range and eco-friendly performance. With nearly two years of operation and over 110,000 kilometers on the odometer, this model has demonstrated exceptional reliability and durability. D8E is a multi-functional electric bus suitable for various urban traffic needs, and its stability in high temperature environments has been successfully verified in Saudi Arabia.
Yutong has been a mainstay in the Middle East for almost two decades, selling 10,172 buses across 12 countries like Qatar and Saudi Arabia. Over 950 of these buses are battery electric, showcasing Yutong’s commitment to advancing new energy transportation in the region. Yutong not only provides high-quality products, but also guarantees ongoing support and customer satisfaction through an exemplary service network. A local operator in Saudi Arabia, Rawahel, gave a thumbs up, saying, “Yutong’s top-shelf service kept our buses on the road, no breaks, during the Hajj.” Yutong’s service reach is extensive, covering a dozen countries and regions with multiple service centers and nearly 200 service engineers on deck, ready to provide around-the-clock support.
In the future, Yutong is set to help Saudi Arabia and other Middle Eastern countries shift into greener transportation modes. With its leading-edge new energy tech and high-performance products, Yutong is ready to ramp up international cooperation and deliver a travel experience that’s not just comfortable and safe but also greener for the public.
